How could you get the jobs which are not advertised?

  • Make a list of local employers and companies you would like to work with and contact their human resources department to explore job opportunities.
  • Keep in touch with your friends and check whether they hear of any suitable jobs
  • Community clubs such as Rotary, Lions and Apex are next options to join with.
  • Contact with local business associations such as traders groups and chambers of commerce
  • Join to employer groups like LinkedIn would be crucial if you are in ICT field. Try to add as much as connection you could do.
  • Participating in volunteer work is a good option. Sometimes you won't get financial benefit but this experience will be an add-on for you for future job applications.

This work provides an insight into the Australian workforce as well as valuable work experience to help you apply for jobs and develop your skills. Voluntary work and work experience can also lead to gathering Australian referees which will help with your job search.
